Conflict Coaching

What is Conflict Coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative relationship between you and your coach; the purpose of this relationship is to assist you in developing healthy goals and tapping into your potential to reach those goals. A conflict coach can help you through specific conflicts or to generally develop skills to help with future conflicts.

Who is it for?

Conflict Coaching is for anyone looking for a new way to manage the conflicts in their lives.

I work with:

  • Managers wanting to create a culture of healthy conflict in the workplace

  • Individuals who are looking for a better way to communicate with their family and friends

  • Members of the same team who want to find a way to work together better

  • People entering into mediation or negotiation looking for improvement on their negotiation skills

Why do I need a Coach?

Most of the time people can resolve their day to day conflicts on their own. Sometimes things escalate or you find yourself stuck in a position where nobody is moving forward. This can be a frustrating place for people and it is a good time to invite a coach onto your side to help you get unstuck.

Maybe that situation has happened to you in the past and you want to avoid it in the future. This is a good time to invite a coach to help prevent future sticking points.

What does the Coach do?

Different from a lawyer (who stands in front to lead) and a mediator (who stands behind to encourage); a conflict coach stands beside you as an ally.

A conflict coach can help in a number of different ways.

  • Assist in discovering goals

  • Uncover sticking points that hold you back from resolving your own conflicts

  • Support you through taking steps to achieve your conflict related goals

  • Challenges you while providing tools to succeed

  • Helps you to consider a bigger picture, alternative solutions, and different approaches

  • Much more

How does it work?

Conflict Coaching will begin with a consultation session. This is where I will gain information to determine suitability for coaching and then you can decide if you would like to work with me. If we both agree, a contract is signed and we will schedule the next session for coaching.

Coaching sessions approximately take one hour. During which a number of exercises, discussion on goal achievements, and discussion on challenges may take place. Between coaching sessions it is expected that you will take steps to achieve your goals.

The number of sessions is unique your needs and preferences. Typically sessions are scheduled bi-weekly for two months.
